How do you interpret this painting? A Song of Spring (1913) was painted by the Austrian artist Maximilian Lenz (1860-1948). The painting was influenced by the famous American dancer Isadora Duncan (1877-1927), who stayed in Vienna in 1904. She shared her idea of rebirth and cyclical renewal, and this painting is an expression of these themes. Lenz was a founding member of the Vienna Secession, an influential Austrian art movement closely related to Art Nouveau. But Lenz was also a Symbolist painter, and this painting is a nice example of that. It is mysterious and intriguing, expressing some deeper themes, without providing an explicit explanation of what the painting means. #Art #Painting #Artwork #ArtHistory #HistoryofArt #OilPainting #OilonCanvas #FineArts #ArtoftheDay #MaximilianLenz #Lenz #AustrianArt #AustrianArtist #AustrianPainter #Symbolist #Symbolism #Spring
