You can imagine why this artist was popular among world leaders. Dawn (1907) was painted by the British artist Edmund Hodgson Smart (1873-1942). Smart is best known for his portraits of some the most influential people in the world, including King Edward VII of Britain, Queen Alexandra of Britain, and U.S. President Warren G. Harding. And while this painting is not a typical portrait, you can clearly see how well he was able to capture the luxury of the riches. The silk dress just looks stunning. The woman is looking out of the window, and the title suggest that it is early morning. Is she trying to see the sunset, or is the waiting for someone? Or is she just reflecting on something? #Art #Painting #Artwork #ArtHistory #HistoryofArt #OilPainting #OilonCanvas #FineArts #ArtoftheDay #Dawn #Smart #HodgsonSmart #BritishArt #BritishArtist #BritishPainter #Dress #SilkDress #Silk
