The magic of the full moon. These three works were painted by the British artist Walter Linsley Meegan (1859-1944), a student from John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836-1893) who popularized these moonlit scenes of landscapes, harbors, and cities. Grimshaw and Meegan painted very comparable nocturnal scenes, but the main difference today is that the works of Grimshaw go for 100 times the price of those of Meegan. The works you see here were sold for about $1000 to $1500. Three works shows here are, from left to right: 1. Fishing Boat on the Shore 2. Figure on a Moonlit Cobbled Lane 3.
