Landscape at Saint-Charles, near Gisors, Sunset, (1891). By Camille Pissarro. Oil on canvas, 81 x 65 cm.📍The Clark Art Museum, Williamstown For a brief period in the late 1880s, Pissarro experimented with the technique known as divisionism or pointillism, pioneered by younger artists like Georges Seurat. This involved applying small touches of two different colours side by side, which were intended to produce a third, more luminous colour for the viewer. Here Pissarro modified the technique, using slightly broader brushstrokes to suggest the glowing late-day light in the countryside near his rural home. #lagra _art #contemporaryart #historyofart #artgallery #arthistory #arte #ancientart #helenoftroy #ancientgreece #painting #artlovers #dailypainting #oilpainting #mythology #myth #history ry #mythologie #masterpiece #greek #ancientart #19thcentury #drawing #portrait #contemporaryartist #academicart #artwork #walkerartgallery #beautiful #classicart #artlover #impressionistart
